This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to join a highly collaborative team at the heart of primary market activity, supporting the issuance and lifecycle management of Eurobonds, Global Bonds, and Medium Term Note Programmes. You will be part of a supportive environment where your expertise in bond agency operations and your commitment to accuracy will be valued.
Responsibilities- Administer and safeguard Global Bonds as Common Depository, ensuring timely processing of interest letters and payments while maintaining meticulous records.
- Oversee the new issue closing process by coordinating with external parties such as issuers, lead managers, lawyers, and ICSDs to ensure accurate completion.
- Produce periodical reporting within agreed timelines.
- Maintain vault operations efficiently, ensuring all assets are securely managed according to regulatory standards.
- Compile evidence for the SI team when requested, supporting compliance requirements with thorough documentation.
- Assist with new issue programme and transaction management for Euro Bond issues where MUFG acts as Agent, collaborating with various stakeholders throughout signing and closing stages.
- Ensure safe settlement of funds as Principal Paying Agent by monitoring payment processes and releasing payments accurately.
- Calculate interest rates for FRN bonds as Calculation Agent, applying your numerical skills to guarantee precise outcomes.
- Liaise with Euroclear and external dealers as Issuing Agent to set up ISINs for new bonds, facilitating smooth onboarding of securities into the market.
- Manage taxation submissions as Taxation Agent by ensuring correct amounts are submitted on behalf of issuers to relevant tax authorities.
- Instruct conversions and exchanges as Conversion Agent by communicating effectively with local CSDs for seamless execution.
- Administer MUFG Programme management and SPV Issuance programmes daily, handling calculation agent duties, corporate action events, and safe settlement of funds for external stakeholders.
- Strictly adhere to CASS procedures by documenting all related processes comprehensively and keeping them up to date.
- Supervise team members by joining 1‑2‑1 meetings with the line manager, coordinating query management, overseeing diary management (TMS), checking payments, and releasing funds.
- Experience in an issuer services or bond agency role within financial markets is preferred; your proven track record demonstrates reliability in handling complex transactions.
- Experience analysing and interpreting diverse data sets accurately under time constraints showcases your dependability and attention to detail.
- Strong MS Excel skills including proficiency with VLOOKUP functions, Pivot Tables, and Graphs.
- Computer literacy across Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook).
- Presentation skills that allow you to share information clearly during internal meetings or external stakeholder interactions.
- Japanese language proficiency is highly desirable given frequent collaboration with Tokyo‑based colleagues.
