Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) is the division responsible for managing the Bank's key international client relationships and main financing products. The coverage teams manage the global relationships with these groups. GCIB has a deep understanding of clients from a Credit and Strategic perspective, enabling it to offer the right products. At the centre of the client relationship, the Relationship Management teams coordinate the commercial strategy as well as the business lines.
The Private Equity Sponsor Coverage EMEA initiative aims to establish MUFG as a leading financial partner for Private Equity Sponsors across the EMEA region, focusing on expanding the client base, enhancing product offerings, and building a globally coordinated coverage model.
Main Purpose of the Role
- Building a Multiproduct Sponsor Platform: develop a comprehensive platform that leverages MUFG's expertise and experience from across the globe and sponsor relationships.
- Expanding Sponsor Client Base: enhance the coverage model for sponsors, targeting Private Equity sponsors.
- Strategic Growth and Collaboration: drive origination of Sponsor Portfolio activities through joint calling with Coverage and Product Bankers.
- Balance Sheet Optimization: manage sponsor transactions carefully and redeploy capital from non-accretive relationships to optimise the balance sheet.
- Strategic Priorities: strengthen local relationships and support Sponsors' global ambitions.
- Vision for the Future: establish MUFG as the first call bank in core sectors and executions.
Key Responsibilities
- Origination Activities: lead relationship management and origination activities across Financial Sponsors.
- Client Relationship Management: develop and maintain strong relationships with Private Equity and Financial Sponsors' key decision makers.
- Product Marketing and Origination: market and originate key financial products.
- Strategic Growth: identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth within the Private Equity sector.
- Collaboration: work closely with internal teams to deliver tailored financial solutions.
- Market Analysis: stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
Work Experience
- Relevant and recent Sponsor Coverage or Leveraged Finance experience with an established international institution.
- Excellent knowledge of Private Equity investments and capital deployment.
- Track record of leading transactions from idea generation and origination to execution of mandates.
- Existing relationships with major market participants.
Skills and Experience
- University degree in relevant subject or equivalent work experience.
- Fluent English; other European languages beneficial.
- Strong numerical skills.
