Overview of the Department / Section
Global Corporate & Investment Banking ("GCIB") is the division responsible for managing the Bank's key international client relationships and main financing products (Syndication, Structured & Project Finance, Securitisation, Working Capital Solutions, ECA financing, etc.).

Main Purpose of the Role
Working with key stakeholders, the role will support the newly established 1st Line Product Governance Team within MUFG, EMEA. The role will cover London, Paris, Milan and Dubai branches and ensure that the products offered by MUFG Bank within EMEA are developed, managed and maintained in line with strategic business initiatives, internal policies and regulatory requirements. The team is responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust governance framework across all financial products offered by the Bank within EMEA, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing product lifecycle events and governance of the Bank’s product catalogue across different business lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support, with responsibility for assigned components, where appropriate, in the design, development and implementation of product governance frameworks, policies and procedures for product approval, review and lifecycle management in line with MUFG’s global standards and local regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, PRA, MiFIDII).
  • Support the development of product taxonomies, with responsibility for analysis and delivery of assigned outputs, to simplify the new product approval process, enhance efficiency and support strategic decision making.
  • Support in the management of appropriate committees/oversight for New Products and Complex Transactions, including coordinating materials and ensuring decisions and actions are clearly documented and traceable.
  • Be responsible for ensuring product approvals, reviews and governance decisions are accurately recorded, with accountability for the quality and integrity of records produced.
  • Support audits and any regulatory reviews as required, with responsibility for timely and accurate provision of information and evidence.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations and Front Office teams) to assess product suitability and associated risks, supporting informed decision‑making and escalation where appropriate.
  • Facilitate and coordinate discussions with Subject Matter Experts to support Product Owners, with responsibility for ensuring inputs are captured and reflected in governance outcomes.
  • Maintain, with ongoing responsibility and oversight, a central and regularly reviewed register of all product‑specific restrictions and conditions to ensure ongoing compliance, operational accuracy and timely follow‑up on required actions.
  • Ensure maintenance and governance of MUFG’s products catalogue, including responsibility for maintaining a comprehensive and up‑to‑date repository of all financial products across MUFG Bank EMEA and ensuring consistent and appropriate risk classification across all products.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Front Office stakeholders on product‑related governance matters, with responsibility to coordinate responses and escalates issues where required.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within MUFG both regionally and globally, supporting effective collaboration and governance outcomes.
  • Support the Business Management team with ad‑hoc tasks and requests, taking responsibility for delivery within agreed timelines.

Work Experience

  • Essential: Graduate level or equivalent work experience within corporate or investment banking environment, working with products / product governance in a front office and / or risk management role.
  • Preferred: Good understanding of financial products including derivatives, structured finance and capital markets instruments.

  • Experience in supporting building of governance functions or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organisation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (required).

Education / Qualifications
