Overview
The EMEA Capital Markets Group focuses on origination, structuring and distribution of financial instruments with the objective of raising capital for MUFG clients. The department works in close partnership with Global Corporate and Investment Banking, representing borrowers in need of liquidity, capital, and distribution channels, or purchasers of financial instruments. The EMEA Investment Grade Capital Markets team leverages MUFG’s Investment Grade corporate client relationships and global distribution footprint to provide clients with comprehensive financing solutions.
Main Purpose of the Role
The role is accountable for the EMEA Capital Markets / Investment Grade Loan Origination & Syndicate function at MUFG Securities EMEA plc (MUSE) with dual-hat status for MUFG, Bank, Ltd. The primary responsibilities include supporting the business to deliver the annual budget target and adhering to regulatory expectations, professional conduct, and MUFG’s culture and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the IG Loan Origination & Syndicate function from initial transaction analysis to final documentation and completion, including preparing marketing presentations, deal screening support memos, and arranging material for pricing meetings.
- Take the lead on the production of high-quality, tailor‑made client presentations and pitch books.
- Produce market research on pricing, deal structures and bank/investor activity as required.
- Manage live transactions, focusing on preparation of client presentations and support of the documentation process.
- Provide support to senior originators, ensuring all administrative and compliance tasks associated with the origination function are completed.
- Build client relationships and approach clients in a professional and structured way.
- Develop a practical understanding of wider product capabilities and how the Loans teams interact with these products, including overall client relationship profitability.
- Understand all core systems and procedures and how they link into standard systems to respond to enquiries.
- Identify and understand issues, errors or concerns, resolve problems swiftly and accurately, taking into account agreed procedures and service needs.
- Manage conflicting priorities, re‑prioritize work accordingly, and work effectively with others to build and promote effective working relationships.
- Make result‑driven decisions and manage large workloads and tight deadlines.
- Adapt communication skills to a range of clients, stakeholders and external parties.
Relationship with Other Functions and Stakeholders
- Maintain and enhance good working relationships with stakeholders across the EMEA region and globally to share best practices and develop effective local policies and procedures aligned with the One MUFG and overall Group strategy.
