As a Senior Consultant, you’ll be working within MUFG Corporate Governance, a part of MUFG Corporate Markets, a division of MUFG Pension & Market Services. This award‑winning dynamic and supportive team is renowned for its expertise in corporate governance advisory services and company secretarial administration, making it one of the leading providers in the UK. Your role will include delivering high‑quality company secretarial and corporate governance services to a diverse portfolio of UK listed external clients. You will act as a point of contact for technical queries and contribute proactively to the commercial growth of our business.

Location: Leeds or London (hybrid) – you’ll be based in our modern office in central Leeds or London on a hybrid basis, so you’ll need to be within a commutable distance, whilst providing flexibility to work from home for some of your working week.

What you need:

  • Ability to integrate into a dynamic team, taking a hands‑on role, supporting colleagues when necessary
  • 4 years of experience in a UK company secretarial and corporate governance role within a listed environment, including AIM, although flexibility may be considered for an outstanding candidate
  • CGI qualified
  • Extensive knowledge of UK company law, regulation and best practice
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders and strong client facing and relationship management skills
  • Boardroom experience
  • Excellent minute taking abilities
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment, balancing conflicting deadlines
  • Commercial awareness and a desire to work within a professional services environment, preferably with experience of working within such an environment
  • Working knowledge of Kube or other entity management systems such as Diligent Entities (formerly ‘Blueprint’)

Day to Day, you will:

  • Work as part of a small team focused on providing a broad range of company secretarial and governance services for individual client entities and large group structures
  • Provide timely and expert advice and support to a varied portfolio of clients, including complex and high‑profile UK listed companies (including AIM companies)
  • Take a proactive approach to establishing and developing relationships with key clients, demonstrating positive behaviours in account development and relationship management
  • Proactively contribute to operational and / or client related improvement initiatives
  • Accurately draft, prepare and review relevant documentation, provide accurate and timely data and advise and support junior colleagues
  • Contribute or lead internal and external technical initiatives, e.g. training sessions, webinars and articles
  • Contribute or lead on business development initiatives, such as promoting the Corporate Governance and other MUFG Corporate Markets services to help our clients
  • Share technical knowledge with other team members and lead internal knowledge sharing initiatives
  • Actively engage with colleagues within MUFG Corporate Markets, seeking to develop networks and establishing mutually beneficial relationships whilst developing strong client relationships with intermediaries, third parties and key client contacts so to be seen as the first point of contact
