Client KYC Group “CKG” is set up to support MUFG Bank and Securities business to manage the client KYC for New Business and Periodic assessments thereby enhancing client experience and generating efficiencies. Client KYC Group function for EMEA covers onboarding, Periodic assessments, Quality Controls, Quality Assurance Policy & Training along with AML and Shared services functions including BoW management, Screening etc.
This individual will report into and work closely with the Head of Governance and Controls within CKG, deputising as required. The Governance & Control function is responsible for Quality control, Screening, BoW Scheduling, CKG MI, CKG Controls, Issues Management and CKG project oversight. This individual will be responsible for leading the management of controls and issues Management and supporting on strategic projects across CKG.
A key aspect of the role is to ensure a strong control environment within CKG with a successful testing or audit rating, effective issues management, whilst maintaining strong stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Issue Management: Take responsibility and management of regulatory, audit, self-identified issues within Client KYC team to create and track milestone action plans, run governance and ensure closure by working closely with issue and MAP owners.
- Strategic Project Governance: Establish project management cadence for multitude of CKG projects in accordance to global project management methodology.
- Governance, Risk & Controls: Effectively optimize, manage and mitigate risk within CKG, working with the management, business and internal risk and compliance functions.
- Leadership: Provide leadership, guide and advise more junior team members, to ensure they are delivering to the desired standard of quality.
- People and being an Employer of choice: As a line manager, you are accountable for leading and managing the staff within the function.
- Relationship With Other Functions And Stakeholders: Responsible for maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders, including business and control / infrastructure teams globally and locally.
Professional Experience & Personal Requirements
- Degree level education (ideally in business, accounting, economics or legal) and/or equivalent experience.
- Exposure to KYC and Client onboarding functions along with business and product understanding within Corporate, Investment Banking and Securities business.
- Hands-on experience in handling projects within Operations and Technology including system implementations.
- Proven experience of the overall financial management and control of a front office business function.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
- Detail conscious, ensuring reliability at all times, and committed to producing high quality and professional work in a team environment.
