We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Product Owner to join our dynamic team. As a Technical Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between technical and business stakeholders, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software products. Reporting to the Executive Director, IT, Head of Data Engineering & Strategy, you will:
- Manage all aspects of building our data product, including stakeholder feedback, business requirements, and BAU issues requiring project support.
- Collaborate closely with the Agile squad to ensure alignment with the product vision and goals.
- Facilitate squad ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement and team cohesion.
- Ensure the usability, quality, and delivery of features and the product.
- Participate in discovery sessions with stakeholders to define requirements clearly.
- Analyse needs and priorities to build a better product and drive continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain a prioritised Product Backlog in Epic and User stories format with clear acceptance criteria by liaising with respective teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all, ensuring the team has prepared tasks.
- Run backlog refinement sessions at regular intervals to continuously groom and plan prioritised features.
- Ensure high ROI of development efforts by tracking business impact and relying on performance data to make informed decisions.
- Discuss and prioritize incoming bugs as part of triage activities.
- Provide regular updates on product progress, challenges, and opportunities to leadership.
- Work collaboratively with the leads to align on strategic priorities and ensure the successful delivery of product features.
You Have:
- Product Owner experience for building a technology platform in the Financial industry
- 8-12 Years Experience in managing successful delivery of products
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban
- Familiarity with modern data stack (AWS, Databricks, Apache Iceberg)
- Proficiency in product management tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and excel
- Excellent knowledge of software development processes and the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, as well as experience and an ability to communicate such concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in successful product deliveries and feature launches
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to various audiences
Preferred:
- Experience in delivering Customer/Client Facing data led products
- Experience in the alternative investment industry
