Support the operation and ongoing enhancement of MUFG’s AI governance framework to ensure responsible deployment of AI Tools and compliance with the EU AI Act 2024 and other applicable laws concerning AI. Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on compliance with AI legal and governance obligations, encompassing both internally developed AI Tools as well as those procured from Third-Party Providers, including the ability to identify when matters fall under AI governance versus data protection obligations, particularly when personal data is in scope. Work with business stakeholders to complete AI assessments to identify and mitigate risks and keep AI inventory up to date. In the scope of such assessments, support other team members in the performance of data protection assessment if needed. Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation. Delivery of AI training and awareness initiatives. Assist/deputise with reporting to governance and oversight forums on AI assessments and risks and the status of the AI Governance programme. Review of client and Third-Party Providers contractual clauses related to AI. Upstream regulatory monitoring concerning AI. Help respond to client/regulator AI information requests – Request for Proposals, Due Diligence Questionnaires, ad-hoc requests, audits etc.

As the role is situated on the Data Protection (Privacy) Team, experience in data protection such as advising the business on data protection law requirements, conducting data protection impact assessments, vendor assessments, assessment of personal data breaches is considered a highly valuable asset.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant AI governance qualification such as AIGP (or willingness to pursue)
  • Degree in Law, Business or related field
  • Relevant data protection qualification such as CIPP, CIPM are considered a valuable asset.
  • 4 years’ experience in compliance, data protection or related field, preferably in the “second line of defence”
  • 2+ years’ experience AI Governance
  • Experience working in Financial Services and/or experience working in a fast‑paced client service environment
