What you'll do:
As an Apex Support Business Analyst at MUFG, you will immerse yourself in the day-to-day operational excellence of the E‐Platforms Apex Team. Your primary focus will be maintaining the stability of the Apex Securities Finance platform by providing hands-on functional and technical support for Repo and SBL products. You will act as a trusted partner for traders and Front Office staff, resolving queries swiftly while ensuring that all enhancements are implemented safely without disrupting production environments. Your responsibilities will extend beyond troubleshooting; you will analyse business requirements, translate them into actionable solutions, participate actively in project delivery discussions, conduct rigorous testing of new functionalities, approve releases for production deployment, document processes meticulously, and share insights with colleagues worldwide. Success in this role hinges on your ability to combine technical proficiency with strong interpersonal skills, ensuring that every solution you deliver supports both immediate operational needs and long-term strategic goals.
- Provide comprehensive L1, L2, and L3 support for the Apex platform by responding promptly to trader and Front Office queries, ensuring all issues are addressed efficiently.
- Maintain and support the Apex application along with all associated services to guarantee optimal performance and reliability for business users.
- Analyse complex business requirements and produce detailed functional specifications and practical solutions tailored to address Front Office challenges.
- Offer deep expertise on Repo and SBL workflows including trade booking, lifecycle events, pricing mechanisms, and settlements to ensure accurate processing.
- Lead or contribute significantly to BAU initiatives as well as small-to-medium sized projects aimed at enhancing platform functionality without compromising system integrity.
- Represent the BAU support function during project delivery meetings and design discussions, acting as a bridge between technology teams and business stakeholders.
- Perform thorough functional testing of Apex BAU deliverables to validate that all changes meet business needs before implementation into production environments.
- Approve test results prior to production releases while ensuring delivered code and configurations do not introduce new risks or issues into live systems.
- Support ongoing system maintenance activities so that platforms remain up-to-date with regulatory requirements and technological advancements.
- Document solutions clearly and share knowledge effectively with global support teams to promote best practices across regions.
What you bring:
Beyond technical prowess, your success will be driven by excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, which allow you to build trusted relationships across Front Office teams, IT departments, Operations units, and global colleagues. Your structured approach ensures logical problem-solving even when priorities shift rapidly; meanwhile your commitment to teamwork fosters an atmosphere where knowledge sharing is second nature. A proactive mindset combined with sound judgement means you can prioritise tasks effectively while maintaining system integrity at all times. Above all else, your empathy for user needs coupled with a passion for continuous improvement makes you an invaluable member of any collaborative team.
- Extensive hands-on experience supporting Apex Securities Finance applications within an investment banking context is essential for excelling in this position.
- In-depth understanding of Repo and Securities Borrowing & Lending (SBL) products as well as related workflows such as trade booking, lifecycle management, pricing strategies, and settlements is required.
- Proven track record supporting Fixed Income trading desks in high-pressure environments demonstrates your dependability under demanding circumstances.
- Comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end trade lifecycle processes—including pricing models, trade capture techniques, and booking procedures, is vital for effective problem resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to provide L1/L2 application support directly within Front Office settings ensures rapid response times for critical issues.
- Strong analytical skills enable you to understand complex business problems quickly while delivering practical technical solutions that align with organisational objectives.
- Working familiarity with Linux environments—including system performance monitoring and routine maintenance tasks—supports efficient platform management.
- Understanding of FIX protocol standards and FIX messaging is desirable for seamless integration with other trading systems.
