OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION
The UK & Ireland Coverage team is responsible for managing corporate relationships, generating cross sell in conjunction with product teams, and managing the portfolio and associated tasks. The team has been structured so that it provides industry focus and client coverage across key geographies and sectors including Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, TMT, Utilities, Energy and General Industries.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To manage corporate client relationships and drive growth in the business. The successful candidate will oversee a portfolio of clients that are headquartered in the UK, Ireland & Switzerland, predominantly in the Consumer & Retail sector. Responsible to deliver solutions across MUFG’s products and Global Network in close collaboration with product partners and internal stakeholders to maximise income and achieve MUFG’s target returns. External engagement is typically with the CFO and Treasury professionals of MUFG’s existing and prospective clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain comprehensive relationships with the target client base, both existing and prospective
- Formulate and implement account plans for the portfolio, collaborating closely with product partners to execute a cross-sell strategy
- Grow the portfolio by identifying and securing new opportunities, increasing the bank’s share of wallet across the client base
- Collaborate with Credit teams to address all credit-related needs and facilitate internal approvals from Capital Committees
- Conduct thorough analysis to identify clients’ needs that can be addressed with MUFG’s wide range of products including debt capital markets, structured finance, risk management & transaction banking solutions
- Contributing to Global Corporate & Investment Banking wide projects as they arise
- Coaching, mentoring and guiding junior colleagues
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Experience in Corporate Banking across a similar product suite
- Experience with a similar global footprint preferred
- Experience in the Consumer & Retail sector preferred
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Functional / Technical Competencies:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, debt capital markets or similar roles in banking, with a proven track record of establishing relationships with top tier corporates
- Strong credit knowledge
- Strong understanding of debt finance, FX, IR hedging & global transaction banking

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide clear direction both internally and externally
- Results driven individual with a positive & proactive approach to origination
