Position: Air Play Youth Engagement Worker

Pay: £13.90 per hour

Location: RAF Marham

Contract Type: Fixed Term until 16th December 2027

Hours per week: 4.5 hours per week, Term Time Only (38 weeks)

About the role

You’ll be at the heart of our youth club provision—delivering fun, engaging, and meaningful sessions that empower young people to grow in confidence, build friendships, and develop life skills. From creative activities to sports, group discussions to mentoring moments—you’ll help shape experiences that young people genuinely want to be part of. Working closely with our Station Leader and wider team, you’ll help create a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where every young person is listened to, valued and encouraged to reach their potential.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver exciting evening youth sessions packed with activities and opportunities
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with young people and their families
  • Encourage participation, confidence, and positive decision-making
  • Support young people to have a voice and actively shape their club experience
  • Work as part of a supportive, energetic team
  • Promote equality, respect and inclusion at all times

What we're looking for:

  • Has a genuine passion for working with young people
  • Can plan and deliver engaging activities that young people love
  • Is a great communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Is positive, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Understands safeguarding and puts young people’s wellbeing first

Experience in youth work is great, but your enthusiasm, energy, and commitment are what really matter most.

Please note the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting employment. Written references will be obtained for the successful candidate that will cover the previous 5 years of employment. The successful candidate will be advised that an offer of employment is subject to us obtaining a minimum of two references which are satisfactory to YMCA Norfolk. Character references may be sought where it is not possible to obtain employment references.
