Position: Marketing & Fundraising Officer (Maternity Cover)

Pay: £13.90 per hour (£16,263.00 per annum)

Location: YMCA Norfolk Offices, Aylsham Road, Norwich with an element of home working

Contract Type: Fixed Term for 9 months

Hours per week: 22.5 hours

About the role: Working closely with our Marketing & Fundraising Manager and the Marketing & Fundraising Team, you’ll help drive income, awareness, and engagement across the organisation. From managing social media campaigns to developing community partnerships and supporting fundraising initiatives, you’ll be at the heart of our mission. You’ll contribute to achieving key income and engagement targets while bringing the YMCA story to life across multiple platforms.

What you'll be doing:

  • Fundraising & Partnerships
    • Build and nurture relationships with local businesses, schools, faith groups, and community partners
    • Support fundraising campaigns, events, and sponsorship opportunities
    • Research and submit funding bids (up to £10,000)
    • Track performance, maintain records, and report on fundraising activity
    • Support supporters, staff, and young people to get involved in fundraising activities
  • Marketing & Communications
    • Create engaging content across social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
    • Manage and update multiple websites to ensure fresh, relevant content
    • Design eye-catching campaigns, adverts, and promotional materials (including video)
    • Write compelling stories, press releases, and case studies
    • Lead internal communications, including newsletters
    • Monitor engagement and protect the organisation’s reputation online

What we're looking for: We’re looking for someone who combines creativity with organisation and strong people skills.

Essential:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in marketing, fundraising, or the third sector
  • Proven experience managing social media and content scheduling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Confident using tools such as Canva, Adobe, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Experience writing funding bids or proposals
  • Knowledge of marketing and fundraising strategies
  • Experience with platforms like Metricool
