The role involves working in our employment team, and we are interested in individuals with 0 - 4 years’ relevant post qualification experience as a solicitor. Candidates should ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Advising employer clients on day-to-day employment issues
- Corporate support work
- Assisting the team with strategic planning and management of reorganisations and other employment projects
- Managing and conducting employment tribunal claims
We are looking for someone who has an interest in this area of law based on experience of dealing with employment law matters, is a proactive self-starter with strong technical ability, a committed work ethic, exceptional client service skills, problem-solving capabilities, and is a strong team player. Excellent people, communication, and client management skills, along with an interest in business development and good commercial awareness, are also desired.
Our employment team is one of the largest and most proactive in the North East, predominantly employer-based with a cross-sector client base. The team deals with a range of employment matters including:
- Helping businesses with strategic planning/reorganisations
- Employment tribunal and high court advice
- TUPE/transactional support
- Executive severance
- Equality and diversity
- Other general HR related matters
We also have a growing corporate immigration practice, with opportunities to learn and help develop that area further. The team is a key part of the wider Muckle LLP team, which consists of over 200 people across our Newcastle, Cumbria, and Teesside offices.
