Following some changes in our Payroll Team, we are looking for an enthusiastic Payroll Officer to work within the Payroll Team at MU Services Ltd. You will be reporting to the Payroll Manager and be involved in a wide range of activities within the Payroll Team, including but not limited to, processing starters, leavers, ad hoc payments, calculating statutory deductions, benefits and answering employees' queries.
In your new role, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient systems and processes are maintained for the timely and accurate calculation and payment of employee salary and ensure payroll payments are made in accordance with the University terms and conditions of employment, internal controls and all statutory taxation regulations.
You are expected to have a good understanding of payroll calculations and their elements, including National Insurance Contributions, PAYE and pensions in relation to payroll queries. This is a fast-paced environment, where you will need a solution-oriented mindset, a keen eye for details and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, members of staff and third parties.
