We are recruiting for an experienced multi-skilled Carpenter with experience of working within a social housing or local authority environment. You will undertake carpentry and other trade repairs and maintenance work to provide high quality, ‘right first time’, cost effective building services to the business and its customers.

To be considered for this position it is essential that you have the ability to undertake associated trade tasks within competency, NVQ2 qualification or equivalent and long term relevant trade experience.

You will conduct work in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards for such work, minimizing damage to the fabric of the property.

Essential qualifications and requirements

  • A valid manual UK driving licence (an Metworks van will be provided for working hours).
  • A minimum of one year of significant driving experience.
  • MTVH reserves the right to withdraw this offer of employment if company fleet policy is unable to secure adequate insurance.
  • Full background check with the Disclosure and Barring service will be completed once an offer of employment is made, with a DBS check being carried out on a 3-yearly basis. The cost of the DBS will be paid for by the organisation.
