Care & Support Worker – Part Time
Balham
Permanent Role 22.5 Hours
We are looking to recruit a care and support worker to work in our CQC registered residential home for adults with Learning Disabilities. The post is for 37.5 hours per week on a shift rota which includes weekends and bank holidays.
The position is to provide care and support using a person‑centred approach in all aspects of the individual customer’s needs, including personal care while ensuring privacy, dignity and respect are always maintained.
You will empower and promote independence while motivating and supporting with setting objectives to enable the customer to reach their full potential and achieve their aspirations.
You will be required to complete accurate and concise daily records, update care plans and risk assessments for the individual customers. You will be required to be a keyworker to named customers. Advocate and liaise with outside agencies on the customers’ behalf as and when necessary.
Essential Skills
Experience not necessary but willingness to learn is.
The successful candidate must have a caring attitude, be approachable and empathetic. They must like to be involved and enjoy a laugh and joke. They must be a good listener, reassuring and be a shoulder to cry on if needed.
You must be willing and able to participate in activities both in‑house and out in the community which include escorting customers to healthcare appointments, social outings and activities.
Should you be successful and are offered a position you will be required to be referred for an enhanced DBS.
