We are recruiting for an experienced Aircraft Painter for one of our clients in Stansted. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to progress.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Aircraft Painter to join our Engineering team based in Stansted. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic aviation environment, delivering high‑quality finishes on aircraft while ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming
  • Mix and apply paints and coatings to precise specifications
  • Use spray guns and specialised equipment to achieve high‑quality finishes
  • Inspect completed work to ensure consistency and compliance with standards
  • Carry out touch‑ups, repainting, and surface polishing as required
  • Remove old paint and corrosion safely and effectively
  • Re‑seal panels following maintenance activities
  • Maintain accurate records of materials and work completed
  • Follow technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with engineers, maintenance teams, and supervisors

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in aircraft painting or industrial painting (aviation preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of coatings, finishing processes, and paint systems
  • Ability to operate spray painting and surface preparation equipment
  • Familiarity with aviation safety standards and regulations
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
  • Physically capable of working at height and in confined spaces
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
  • Relevant certifications or vocational training in painting or aviation maintenance is an advantage
