Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 5:00pm; Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our Accounts team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in developing and supporting cost accounting systems and processes, analysing product costs, monitoring financial performance, and supporting wider accounting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a background in manufacturing who is looking to develop their career within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Costing of purchased materials
  • Reconciliation of monthly stock movements within the inventory system
  • Monitoring and reviewing bills of materials and inventory movements
  • Conducting cost analysis of manufacturing processes
  • Analysing profit margins and supporting pricing decisions
  • Assessing organisational data and labour cost rates
  • Reviewing achieved hourly rates against expected performance
  • Identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives to maximise profitability
  • Liaising with production teams to review manufacturing performance and ensure data accuracy
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management reports
  • Supporting ad-hoc financial analysis and projects
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements
  • Preparing general ledger postings and account reconciliations
  • Managing cashbooks, including monthly reconciliations and journal postings
  • Supporting the Finance Manager and wider Accounts team as required
  • Assisting with the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role and level of responsibility

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a manufacturing environment and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be able to work effectively under pressure, communicate confidently with colleagues across departments, and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified or part-qualified AAT
  • Previous accounting experience
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organisational and time management abilities
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications

Desirable

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management processes
  • Experience supporting ERP systems or system implementations
