  • About the Press & Small Fabrications Setter Operator Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Press & Small Fabrications Setter Operator to join our manufacturing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience operating press machinery who takes pride in producing high-quality components in a fast-paced engineering environment.

You will be responsible for setting up and operating HARE presses (or similar), fly presses, guillotines, and associated tooling to manufacture small fabricated components, clips, and earthing bonding leads to engineering drawings and quality standards.

  • Set up and operate HARE presses (or similar), fly presses, guillotines, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Manufacture components accurately from engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Verify drawings, materials, work orders, and documentation before production begins.
  • Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
  • Ensure all products meet quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Identify, segregate, and report any non-conforming products.
  • Complete production records, route cards, and WIP transactions using production planning software.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to ensure production targets are achieved.
  • Follow all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
  • Support other production areas as required to meet business needs.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, has excellent attention to detail, and takes pride in producing quality products.

  • Experience setting and operating HARE presses or similar press machinery.
  • Experience using fly presses, guillotines, and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Competent using measuring equipment to inspect components.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • ONC/HND in Production or Mechanical Engineering, or a recognised manufacturing apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience within a precision engineering or fabrication environment.
