An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Manager to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing business. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System, leading a small inspection team, and ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards across the business.

This role would suit a confident and organised quality professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be expected to manage changing priorities, communicate effectively across departments, support your team, and oversee everything from First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and subcontractor quality issues through to internal and external audits.

The Role

As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the ongoing management and continual improvement of the Quality Management System whilst ensuring compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting a team of two experienced Quality Inspectors
  • Maintaining and improving the Quality Management System
  • Creating, reviewing and approving FAIRs and LAIRs
  • Managing First Article Inspection activities using VisualFAIR software
  • Planning and conducting internal and external quality audits
  • Acting as the company's Quality Management Representative
  • Managing inspection and testing activities across manufacturing
  • Supporting subcontractor quality activities and supplier issues
  • Ensuring calibration and inspection equipment remains compliant
  • Managing multiple priorities whilst supporting production requirements
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the quality function
  • Working closely with production and senior management to achieve business objectives

What We're Looking For

Applications will only be considered from candidates with aerospace manufacturing experience.

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Quality Manager, Senior Quality Engineer or similar leadership role within aerospace manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Proven experience completing and approving FAIRs
  • Experience conducting internal and external quality audits
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience managing or supervising quality personnel
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple competing demands
  • A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities
  • EASA quality knowledge would be advantageous
