Location: Bishops Stortford

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 (Office Based)

We are recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Project Manager to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing business based in Bishops Stortford. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with experience within manufacturing, aerospace, defence, engineering, or other highly regulated industries to take ownership of customer programmes from order receipt through to final delivery.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring products are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Procurement and Quality teams, you will coordinate resources, manage risks, and maintain strong customer relationships throughout each project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from contract review through to final delivery
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones and recovery plans
  • Coordinate activities across Production, Engineering, Procurement and Quality departments
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and build-to-print programmes
  • Monitor project performance, risks, constraints and delivery schedules
  • Manage change control, including drawing revisions and customer requirements
  • Act as the primary customer contact for assigned projects
  • Produce regular project status reports and updates
  • Support commercial reviews and manage project budgets
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery processes
  • Attend customer meetings and site visits when required

Requirements

  • Proven Project Manager or Programme Manager experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Aerospace, defence or other regulated industry experience preferred
  • Experience managing production-based, build-to-print and NPI projects
  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, risk management and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems for project tracking and production control
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Teams and reporting tools
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and delivery performance
  • PRINCE2, APM or equivalent project management qualification desirable
