We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer to join a leading engineering and industrial solutions business. This is a field-based role focused on developing and growing sales opportunities within the paper manufacturing sector across the UK.

The Technical Sales Engineer Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing sales opportunities within existing and new customer accounts. A key focus of the role will be promoting and selling specialist valve solutions used within paper manufacturing applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying high-priority customers and opportunities to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Developing relationships with existing clients while actively pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Promoting and selling industrial products and solutions into the paper manufacturing industry.
  • Generating and managing enquiries for both new equipment and service opportunities.
  • Preparing, presenting, and negotiating commercial proposals and contracts.
  • Managing customer relationships throughout the sales cycle and post-order process.
  • Maintaining accurate sales activity, pipeline, and forecasting information within Salesforce CRM.
  • Providing regular market intelligence and identifying emerging opportunities within the territory.
  • Supporting marketing initiatives through customer engagement and industry insights.
  • Delivering accurate sales forecasts and territory reports.

About the Product Focus

A key part of this role involves selling specialist valve solutions used within paper manufacturing operations. Candidate Requirements

  • Proven field sales experience within an industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience selling into the paper manufacturing industry is essential.
  • Strong track record of business development and account management.
  • Experience managing complex sales processes and commercial negotiations.
  • Ability to build long-term customer relationships at multiple levels.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce would be advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.
