We are currently recruiting for an experienced Floor Layer to join a growing and well-established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for long-term, stable work with opportunities for development.
The Role
As a Floor Layer, you will be responsible for installing a wide range of flooring materials to a high standard across various projects. You will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing a variety of flooring including vinyl, marmoleum, planks, and carpet tiles
- Hot welding and finishing floors to a high standard
- Measuring and preparing floor areas accurately
- Removing existing flooring and preparing subfloors (cleaning, levelling, smoothing)
- Cutting materials to size and fitting around edges and obstacles
- Applying adhesives, underlay, and finishing trims
- Carrying out repairs or replacements of damaged flooring
- Working from technical drawings or job specifications
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- Following all health and safety procedures on-site
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Floor Layer with strong knowledge of installation techniques
- Ability to work with a range of flooring materials
- Good measuring and cutting skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality of finish
- Ability to manage workload across multiple jobs
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Clear 5-year employment history and ability to pass a DBS check
- Comfortable using online systems for job reporting (training provided)
