MTS Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong background in steel erection and structural steelwork to join a well-established contractor delivering projects at Heathrow Airport. This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who can oversee steelwork projects from initial order through to completion, coordinating design, fabrication, procurement and site installation.

The Role
As Construction Project Manager, you will take responsibility for projects from order placement through fabrication, installation and final handover. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing structural steel and steel erection projects from start to completion
- Liaising directly with clients and attending project and progress meetings
- Coordinating with design teams regarding surveys, drawings and buildability issues
- Managing project documentation and updating client systems
- Producing and reviewing material requirements
- Working closely with purchasing teams to ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time
- Liaising with production and fabrication teams throughout the manufacturing process
- Ensuring steelwork is ready for delivery and installation in line with programme requirements
- Preparing and reviewing RAMS, lift plans and other relevant site documentation
- Supporting steel erection teams on site and resolving operational issues
- Monitoring project progress, programme and site requirements
- Identifying and documenting potential commercial issues for review
- Completing project handover documentation and close-out paperwork
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Construction Project Manager, Steelwork Project Manager or similar
- Strong experience within steel erection, structural steelwork or architectural metalwork
- Good understanding of steel fabrication and installation processes
- Experience working with RAMS, lift plans and construction project documentation
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills
- Confident dealing directly with clients, site management and subcontractors
- Ability to coordinate design, fabrication, procurement and installation activities
- Previous experience working on airport, infrastructure or similarly controlled construction environments would be advantageous
As the projects are based at Heathrow Airport, applicants must be able to obtain an airside pass. This requires a 5-year checkable employment/self-employment history and a clear criminal record/DBS.
