Location: Ham Hill Depot Snodland Kent (Possibility for out basing)

Monday Friday, Flexible 50-hour contract- Days plus overtime available
Principle Duties and Accountabilities:
- To deliver and collect skips from Southern Water sites using both Skip lorry and or HIAB Grab Lorry.
- Being flexible in your approach to work and undertake ad-hoc duties when your vehicle is off the road or if you are required to assist other field teams
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate specialist Skip Lorry / Hiab Grab Lorry once site induction training has been provided (Class 2, CPC required)
- To safely use a Running Bin to collect and dispose of loaded skips within Southern Water Waste treatment sites primarily in Kent
- Working on Southern Water Treatment sites in strict accordance with statutory health, safety and environmental procedures. Training to given (EUSR)
- Safe use of HIAB Grab Lorry (when required) using Crane & Bucket in accordance with training (Provided)
- Undertake vehicle checks at the start and finish of each shift using digital tablet system
- Ensure that all jobs are documented correctly on digital tablet system
- Report all defects, accidents and near misses immediately to Line Manager.
- Maintain the drivers logbook in compliance with MOT rules and procedures
- Ensure that the conditions of all PPE (personal protective clothing and equipment) remain fit for purpose
- Keep the vehicle and equipment washed down on a weekly basis, free from rubbish in hose and toolboxes and the cab
- Attend training as and when required.

Skip / Hiab Operator Health and Safety Responsibilities are:
- To understand and comply with the company health and safety policy
- To influence and promote a positive health, safety culture within the organisation and lead by example
- To ensure all works activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with legislative, company requirements and the RAMS
- To carry out comprehensively and complete all company required site documentation
- Ensure VPRs are carried out and completed
- DRAs are to be carried out for every job and updated where required
- To report all health, safety and environmental incidents to the Line Manager within 2 hours of it happening
Qualifications / Competency:
- HGV 2 Licence
- Must have the ability to take on responsibility of working within very controlled guidelines and environmental regulations
- Able to deal with the public in a polite and friendly manner
- Able to work with a minimum of supervision and to receive instructions remotely
- Previous work involving liquid waste products in the water utility / environmental services sector is desirable. Knowledge of safe working in street works preferred
