The Company: We are working with a long-established Regional Contractor who have successfully delivered new build and refurbishment projects for a varied client base in the North West of England. They secure projects through key public sector Frameworks and via private developers often through negotiation. Staff turnover here is very low.
The Role: They are now in a position to add to their Commercial team due to the award of housing improvement projects for a number of Housing Associations. Specifically, they would like to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial elements of a variety of projects on the Framework based in the South Lake District. They are looking for someone who can commercially run their own projects on site reporting in to a Managing QS and with the support of the Regional Commercial Managers and Directors.
- Undertake all commercial and contractual requirements on the designated projects in accordance with the company procedures and processes, ensuring sound financial performance including profitability, cashflow, and managing risks and opportunities.
- Preparation of accurate and detailed monthly cost reports for review with the MQS/Commercial Manager.
- Preparing and agreeing Monthly Valuations, including valuing variations and forecast final accounts.
- Appointment of Subcontractors in accordance with Company Procedures, including valuations, payment notices and agreement of final accounts.
- To work closely with Contracts Management to ensure all required site records and correspondence are completed in accordance with the specific Contract requirements and Company Procedures.
- Maintain close working relationship with the client to assist in the success of the project.
- Liaise with Contracts Management to review and monitor project costs whilst achieving high standards of quality and health and safety.
You: To be successful in this role you will need to have worked as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS on social housing refurbishment schemes or similar projects previously. We would also like to speak with experienced Assistant, Intermediate or Project Quantity Surveyors with Social Housing Improvement experience as we can recruit at all levels for this project. You will be based in or be able to commute to the South Lakes on a daily basis – realistically you will likely live in the Lake District or North Lancashire to have a sensible commute. You will be IT literate and contractually aware.
