I’m working with a long-established regional contractor to recruit an Estimator due to continued growth and a strong forward order book across Yorkshire and the Midlands. This is primarily an office-based role, offering the chance to play a key role in securing a diverse range of projects within a close-knit, well-respected business.
The Role;
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Analysing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Managing and issuing subcontract and supplier enquiries
- Reviewing and assessing subcontractor quotations
- Building up rates and pricing for labour, plant, and materials
- Identifying risks and opportunities within tender submissions
- Supporting value engineering and cost planning activities
- Liaising with operational teams and attending occasional site visits
- Assisting with handover of successful tenders to the delivery team
What You’ll Need;
- 4+ years’ experience in an Estimating role within a UK main contractor
- Experience pricing projects across sectors such as commercial, industrial, healthcare, or education
- Strong understanding of construction methods and cost planning
- Experience with JCT contracts and tender processes
- Strong numerical, analytical, and attention to detail skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Must have the right to work in the UK
