The Company: We are working with a leading, national, building contractor whose Manchester Office has created a great reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects for clients based in the North West of England. They have a very approachable and successful senior management team, secure the overwhelming majority of their projects through negotiation, and are also members of a number of key public sector procurement frameworks. Although they are one of the Top 20 Construction Groups in the UK, they have the feel of a smaller family business where employees are valued and supported. Staff turnover is low and their Glassdoor rating is among the best in the industry.
The Role: They are now keen to add a Bid Writer to their team as they have increased the number of schemes in preconstruction. You will be responsible for generating high-quality written bids, tenders, and quotation materials, working alongside the pre-construction team and other staff. You will provide admin support from initial enquiry to tender submission, including bid writing input from simple quotations and client enquiries to large scale bid proposals and tender submissions. You will help to source new clients by monitoring portals and sources of potential tender opportunities for the business. You will help to handle PQQs, ITTs & RFIs downloading, collating, preparing, completing, and submitting relevant documents ahead of deadlines. Ensuring that the correct documents are submitted as part of bids. You’ll thoroughly edit and proof-read materials that leave the building to ensure that information is formatted and grammatically correct without spelling errors, is well-researched, follows company brand guidelines and meets/exceeds customers’ requirements. Suggest improvements to the bid process, developing best practice.
You: They are keen to recruit an experienced Bid Writer or somebody who carries out Bid writing as a part of their role. You will need to be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily. IT literate. Good construction knowledge. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Rewards: You will get the chance to work on significant, high-profile projects in the North West. You will receive a good salary package with extensive benefits including a bonus that has been paid in 14 of the last 15 years.
