The Company MTrec Recruitment is proudly supporting our Newcastle based client in their search for a Senior Payroll Officer. They are looking for the right candidate to support the effective, accurate and timely operation of the weekly and monthly payroll within their business and to provide accurate monthly reports to the company Directors. The Role
- Operation of an accurate weekly & monthly payroll.
- Maintain T&A data, changes and amendments to system, ensuring accuracy always.
- Administration of group personal pension scheme/auto enrolment.
- Make payments and reconcile all documentation to the online pension provider.
- Maintaining and producing end of year P11d's for staff benefit in kind.
- Generate P60's.
- Maintenance of PAYE settlement agreements and HMRC exemptions.
- Producing monthly reports.
- Complete business reporting from Payroll Information.
- Advise HR Team and the wider business on HMRC rules and regulations, including the administration of Expatriated employees.
- Liaise with the finance departments around the Group to find the most efficient methods of providing required employment cost information.
- Develop and deliver training programmes for T&A users and payroll processes.
- To carry out any other duties, relevant to the post which may arise thus ensuring a comprehensive and flexible service to the business and the department.
- To actively support the planning and administration of Payroll improvement projects working with stakeholders from different levels and functions within the business.
The Person
- Payroll officer experience is essential.
- Experience of working in a payroll function in a high-volume environment is essential.
- Any experience of supervising a small payroll team would be advantageous.
- Paying weekly workers in a fast moving dynamic environment.
- Sound knowledge of PAYE, RTI, Statutory payments, salary sacrifice, pensions auto enrolment and employee benefits in kind.
- Experience of working with payroll software systems.
- Computer literate, with strong IT skills especially in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience of working on both weekly and monthly payrolls.
- A passion for self-development.
- A continuous improvement attitude.
- Can-do approach to problem solving.
- Able to communicate at all levels.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with high volumes of work.
