MTrec are proudly representing our prestigious engineering client, who are looking to recruit a new Tool Assembler to join their team on a permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to ensure the correct issue of tooling is supplied and to check the condition of the tool before production commencement. In addition to this, the tools should be stored in an efficient and effective manner.

The Job You’ll Do:

  • To ensure correct issue of the tool supplied.
  • Carrying out first off inspection in accordance with the operating procedure.
  • Report any deficiencies to immediate supervisor regarding a change in production methods, drawings and tolerance.
  • Ability to understand Quality standards in terms of tools and use of these tools.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety requirements are always followed, especially relating to protection clothing and PPE.
  • Ensuring that tooling area is kept clean and tidy under company 6S standards.
  • Maintain and replace tooling parts as and when required.
  • Maintain a constant flow of tooling to all production areas.
  • To undertake any other tasks as may be required.
  • Understand the demands/needs of all production departments.

About You:

Essential:

  • The ability to use measuring equipment.
  • The ability to use a grinding machine.
  • The ability to use lathes and milling machines.
  • The ability to use the heat treatment process.
  • To have the ability to read drawings.
  • Ability to be aware of company Quality standards especially in regards to ISO 9001.
  • Finding different ways to make a difference through continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrate flexibility in regard to other tasks around the site.
  • Use of Verniers and Metrology experience.
