We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire & Security Installation and Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and handover of fire detection, security, and life safety systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.
This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.
The Job you'll do:
- Installation and commissioning of fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable).
- Intruder alarm systems.
- CCTV systems (IP and analogue).
- Access control systems.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and system designs.
- Testing and fault-finding on newly installed systems.
- Completing commissioning documentation and certificates.
- Providing client demonstrations and system handovers.
- Ensuring all works comply with relevant British Standards and industry regulations.
- Liaising with project managers, clients, and other trades on site.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition.
- Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times.
About You:
Essential:
- Proven experience installing and commissioning fire and/or security systems.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g., conventional & addressable panels).
- Experience with CCTV, access control, and intruder systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent fault-finding skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable:
- FIA or relevant fire and security qualifications.
- ECS/CSCS card.
- IPAF/PASMA certification.
- Experience with major manufacturers equipment.
- Knowledge of current BS5839, BS5266, and SSAIB/NSI standards.

- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Flexible with working hours when required.
