MTrec recruitment are proudly representing our industry-leading client, who is based in the Stoke-on-Trent area, in their search for an experienced and hands-on maintenance engineer.

The role would be well-suited to those with a mechanical bias or a multiskilled background. The role is working a permanent day shift - Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:30, though will include on-call work 1 week in 5, and an earlier shift pattern, 06:00 to 14:30, 1 week in 5.

Investigate, diagnose, and rectify faults on automated process equipment such as pumps, mixers, conveyor/drive systems, packaging equipment and general services support.

Possess strong hands-on skills in mechanical disciplines such as fitting, welding, dismantling/rebuilding, and parts replacement.

Provide effective reactive engineering support to manufacturing plus an active involvement in a rapidly evolving PPM system.

Ensure all relevant engineering documentation and communications are completed in a presentable and timely manner.

Work closely and effectively with the manufacturing team to ensure the process operates in a safe and efficient manner.

Possess a flexible and driven persona with the ability to communicate with your team and colleagues at all levels of the business.

Participate in scheduled production meetings to ensure you understand the performance and targets of the production process and apply engineering contributions to any relevant decision-making.

Demonstrate a willingness to participate and contribute to any improvement schemes or projects through all areas of the business.

A time served engineer with a minimum of a level 3 NVQ qualification.

Experience within technologically driven manufacturing environments.

Ideally, you will be able to perform basic fault-finding on PLC systems, but this is not essential.

A hands-on and flexible approach to work.

Fully available to work the full range of shift patterns for the role.
