Our clients are specialists in their market sector, they are now looking to recruit a Purchasing Engineer on a permanent basis.
The Job you'll do:
- Managing supplier delivery performance.
- Managing and updating approved supplier list.
- Design change control function.
- Purchasing products relating to business needs.
- Work with suppliers to complete project timings and required quality specifications.
- Work with the R&D team and understand the needs and timelines for specific projects.
- Procuring technical goods and services used in the operation of the organisation.
- Negotiating contracts and prices for goods purchased.
- Raising purchase orders.
- Creating project timing plans and managing activities at supplier to realise required timings.
- Challenging prices on existing purchased products.
- Initiating supplier cost reduction activities (VA/VE).
- Understanding and determining engineering drawings.
- Visit Supplier sites and building relations with suppliers.
About You:
- Ideally have experience of working within the automotive industry.
- Must have at least 5 years experience of working within a Purchasing / Buyer role.
- Be computer literate with a very good knowledge in the use of Excel/Office/ERP systems.
- Have very good English/communication skills (oral and written).
- Have strong organisational & time-management skills.
- Must have the ability to multi-task.
- Have the ability to communicate to and liaise with all levels including senior management.
- Be assertive with good interpersonal skills.
- Must possess an analytical approach to their daily work.
- Must be reliable, flexible and trustworthy.
