MTrecs new career opportunity Our client are specialists in their industry sector, they are looking to recruit an Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis.
The role will be working a Panama shift where you will work 7 days out of every 14 days.
The shift pattern is 2 weeks of days (6.30am to 6.00pm) then 2 weeks of nights (6.30pm to 6.00am).
The Job youll do As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (known as a Mechanical Fitter internally), you will be part of an in house engineering team that keeps production running safely and reliably.
You will work hands on with plant and equipment, supporting planned maintenance and responding to breakdowns to help maintain consistent output and quality.
Duties also include: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on production equipment.
Supporting safe and efficient operation of specialist machinery.
Working with hydraulic, pneumatic and drive chain systems.
Replacing and aligning bearings.
Supporting fabrication and welding tasks where required.
Working closely with colleagues to minimise downtime.
About You Essential Mechanical engineering background with good experience in manufacturing environments.
Level 3 qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline.
Strong commitment to health and safety best practice.
Good communication skills, written and verbal.
Ability to work flexibly in a busy, hands-on environment.
Experience of fault finding on hydraulic, pneumatic and drive systems.
Desirable Completed a hands on apprenticeship.
HNC or HND qualification or equivalent.
Experience in heavy manufacturing industry.
Arc and MIG welding or basic fabrication skills.
Experience with electrical control systems.
