MTrec recruitment are representing our industry leading manufacturing client based in the heart of Midlothian. The business is a well-established company and are looking to expand their talented quality team by recruiting a full time and permanent HSE Advisor. The Job you will do:

  • Strive for continual improvement in the company’s Health and Safety and Environment performance
  • Maintain compliance with the company’s Health and Safety (ISO45001) and Environment (ISO14001) accreditations
  • Maintain sites risk assessment process and monitor completion of assessments and all actions.
  • Record accident and near miss incidents; conduct investigations and report health and safety statistics monthly to senior management
  • Chair monthly Health and Safety reviews and oversee action recording/completion.
  • Conduct regular practice fire evacuation drills
  • Maintain site fire safety procedures
  • Maintain sites chemical usage, including completion of COSHH assessments and maintenance of MSDS
  • Advise on personal protective equipment
  • Advice on H&S training
  • Liaise with external agencies to conduct environmental monitoring, as required.
  • Prepare annual Pollution Prevention Permit
  • Protect the company’s professional reputation and safeguard the future of the business and its employees
  • Provide cover for general Quality Assurance duties, e.g. product sample collection, internal audits, lab testing and preparation of certificates of conformity and analysis.

About you:

  • It is essential you hold a NEBOSH qualification.
  • Ideally experience with BRC or Food Manufacturing will be preferred.
  • High standards of personal conduct and professional performance
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good team player; ability to work as part of a team and alone on own initiative
  • Ability to think and plan ahead
  • Reliable and flexible to manage changing priorities
  • Accurate with good attention to detail
  • A positive, proactive and constructive approach to problem solving
