Mtrec recruitment are representing their bespoke services client in their search for an experienced Systems Engineer permanently. The role will be instrumental in designing and improving specialist equipment and will be an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist sector.

The Job you will do:

  • Design and develop complex electrical and electronic systems for advanced technology products and equipment.
  • Create and manage technical requirements, ensuring products are thoroughly tested and validated.
  • Define and maintain system architectures, interfaces and hardware/software integration to ensure reliable system performance.
  • Support the build, integration and optimisation of prototype systems, identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Contribute to the development of future product platforms and technologies.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and certification requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance on electrical engineering standards and best practices.
  • Manage external suppliers and contractors delivering specialist engineering services.
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional design reviews with mechanical, electrical and software engineering teams.
  • Support the transfer of new products into production, including developing test procedures, calibration processes and training materials.
  • Take a practical, hands-on approach to solving complex engineering challenges and delivering innovative solutions.

About You:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer, and ideally at least 2 years as a Systems Engineer.
  • Good understanding of motion control and high-accuracy motion systems.
  • Experience with optical systems.
  • Experience with PLC systems would be advantageous.
  • Be a self-starter able to work independently as well as part of a small team on challenging problems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
