MTrec Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager to join a well-established and expanding manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality and technical professional with strong food industry experience who enjoys leadership, continuous improvement, and working collaboratively across multiple departments. You will play a key role in leading the site Quality team, ensuring compliance with food safety legislation and certification standards, and driving high standards across quality, hygiene, and technical operations. Working closely with Production, Product Development, and Sales, you will help maintain product integrity, manage audits and quality systems, and support ongoing improvements across the business.
The Job you will do:
- Lead and develop the site Quality team, covering Quality Control and Hygiene
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety legislation and standards
- Manage non-conformances, complaints, and root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement
- Oversee environmental monitoring and pest control systems
- Support and maintain robust document control and product specifications
- Collaborate closely with Production on quality and technical matters
- Provide technical support to Product Development and Sales teams
- Support and maintain certification standards (e.g. BRCGS, Organic, Kosher, Halal)
- Participate in internal and external audits, including customer audits
- Manage export documentation and liaise with relevant authorities where required
- Drive improvements in quality systems, including digitalisation of documentation
About You:
- Several years of experience in a Quality/Technical role within the food industry
- Solid knowledge of food safety standards and quality management systems (e.g. HACCP and BRCGS)
- Experience with audits and certification processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and a structured, analytical mindset
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop people
