The company delivers bespoke electrical and instrumentation solutions supporting both offshore and onshore applications.
As an Electrical Design Draughtsperson, you will support the electrical and instrumentation engineering function through the preparation and checking of detailed design deliverables for new and existing products. Working under the direction of senior engineers, you will produce electrical schematics, control panel layouts, general arrangement drawings, and associated documentation to support contract delivery. The role will involve day-to-day electrical design activities using Autodesk AutoCAD 2D, assisting with outline design schemes, document checking, and basic calculations. You will liaise closely with project teams to ensure all electrical and instrumentation deliverables are produced in line with project schedules, technical requirements, and company standards.
The Job You will do:
- Undertake and assist with the detailed design of electrical and instrumentation systems for new and existing products.
- Produce electrical schematics, control panel layouts, general arrangement drawings, and associated design documentation under the direction of senior engineers.
- Assist senior engineers with the preparation of outline and concept design schemes.
- Check electrical and instrumentation drawings and documentation for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
- Carry out basic electrical calculations to support design activities.
- Interpret and understand electrical, hydraulic, process, and instrumentation drawings.
- Plan, manage, and complete day-to-day electrical design tasks using Autodesk AutoCAD 2D.
- Support the execution of contracts for the supply of equipment and services by ensuring electrical deliverables are produced to schedule.
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to ensure all electrical and instrumentation deliverables meet contractual and project requirements.
- Assist with the preparation, control, and maintenance of project documentation and drawing registers.
- Contribute to standardisation efforts for both new and existing products.
- Comply with company Business Management System (BMS) requirements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and report HSE risks or incidents to promote a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support team and company objectives.
About you:
- Level 4 HNC in Electrical Engineering (Similar or Higher).
- 1-2 Years Experience in an Electrical Design role.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Previous Experience with CAD Software (AutoCAD 2D).
- Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to adapt to change whilst progressing the project.
