The Job You’ll Do:
- Support the Engineering Manager in the delivery and oversight of a diverse portfolio of projects, including New Product Introduction (NPI), Change Control, and customer-focused initiatives.
- Assist in the implementation, integration, and continuous development of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes across the organisation.
- Lead assigned projects, coordinating reviews, meetings, and project schedules while monitoring progress to ensure successful delivery against agreed objectives.
- Define project requirements and specifications through analysis of product designs, customer needs, and performance criteria.
- Develop and maintain accurate project cost estimates and resource forecasts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, global sites, and external stakeholders to ensure effective project execution and alignment.
- Analyse technical, operational, and financial data to support decision-making, business case development, and continuous improvement activities.
- Drive enhancements to engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices to improve efficiency and performance.
- Support the preparation of quotations and proposals for new business opportunities and customer projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers and project teams, identifying opportunities for design optimisation, manufacturing improvements, and process efficiencies.
- Plan, schedule, and manage engineering and project activities to ensure delivery within agreed timescales.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertake administrative responsibilities, including the preparation and review of technical reports, project documentation, and meeting minutes.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in a Project Engineering or similar technical engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong project management capabilities, with a proven track record of planning, coordinating, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Experience managing New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, change control activities, or engineering projects throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings, specifications, standards, and engineering documentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate data and make informed, evidence-based decisions.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and process optimisation techniques, with experience driving operational efficiencies.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of building strong working relationships across cross-functional and global teams.
- Commercially aware, with experience contributing to cost analysis, quotation preparation, and business case development considered beneficial.
- Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, and project management/planning software.
