Our client are specialists in their industry sector; they are looking to recruit a Maintenance Manager on a permanent basis.
The job holder will involve overseeing installation, repairs and upkeep of the company’s site, buildings and works machinery. The Manager is responsible for a team of Engineers and has responsibility for the control of sub-contractors.
- Plan and oversee all maintenance, repair and installation activities.
- Recommend, implement, and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Undertake and maintain a risk assessment of plant/equipment, write and implement action and improvement plans as required.
- Develop engineering procedures and ensure implementation.
- Manage the yearly objectives and supervise the weekly completion of work across all engineering functions.
- Support the apprentice assessment days. Manage and develop apprentices within the engineering team and ensure they follow a structured training programme.
- Manage relationship, prices and service standards with contractors and service providers.
- Manage and implement PUWER risk assessments and actions plan.
- Manage equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
- Manage expenses and control the budget for maintenance.
- Manage the database and reports to track daily outstanding jobs to be completed.
- Work closely with the General Manager in supporting the business needs.
- Manage engineers at all levels via performance development reviews and weekly meetings.
- Data driven PM reporting.
- Implement processes and standard operating procedures.
- Supporting on breakdowns (when required) using key skills with a hands-on approach.
About You:
- Organisation & planning, communication, managing relationships, teamwork, intelligence, attention to detail, determination/persistence.
- Experience in managing maintenance team and planning maintenance operations.
- Understanding of technical aspects, electrical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Working knowledge of facilities, machines and equipment.
- Good IT skills using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Report Writing.
- Business and Commercial awareness.
- Experience and qualifications normally associated with successful performance of role.
- Minimum of 5 years Engineering or Maintenance Management/Supervisory experience within a manufacturing related environment.
- Qualifications minimum electric or mechanical engineering qualification (Level 3 or above apprentice trained. HNC or HND desirable).
- PLC knowledgeable.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to automotive manufacturing. NEBOSH desirable.
- Knowledge of IATF16949 requirements; familiarity with ISO45001/14001.
- Strong data literacy for maintenance KPIs.
