MTrec's prestigious engineering client is looking to recruit a new Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to join their growing organisation. The successful candidate should be experienced, self-motivated, and will be responsible for assisting the company's clients with electrical design services. The projects generally have one to two months design periods and are varied in nature, giving the appointed engineer an ever-changing and interesting range of design duties. With a clear-cut progression pathway to Principal Engineer and beyond, this is a fantastic opportunity to take that next step in your career.
The Job You'll Do:
- Provide experience and assistance for the company's design projects.
- Establish working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as the company's clients.
- Contribute to meetings with clients, the project team, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Undertake and deliver high quality detailed engineering design for electrical building services and power distribution systems, including calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications, and other related documents.
- Projects include: LV Distribution systems, lighting and emergency lighting, small power, fire alarms and detection, security, IT and communications, lighting protection, standby power supplies, earthing.
About you:
- Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering subject, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5-years relevant experience as a minimum.
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, regulations, guides, and all-round good practice.
- Extensive knowledge of the Building Services industry.
- Proficiency with Amtech, Hevacomp, AutoCAD, NBS Specification Writing (desirable).
- Able to work independently without supervision.
- Availability and willingness to travel if required.
