Job Description

Our client are specialists in their industry sector, they are looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis.

It is essential candidates are flexible to work a 3 shift pattern.

The Job youll do

  • Diagnosis and repair of special purpose equipment and make sure it works correctly.
  • Formulation and execution of effective (value added) planned maintenance (PM) to prevent disruption of activities.
  • Prioritisation, validation, and completion of maintenance requests.
  • Control of Inventory using engineering database.
  • Pilot key equipment using maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs) to formulate and execute improvement action plans.
  • Mentor and support to maintenance apprentices.
  • Capture of comprehensive maintenance data for equipment history and lessons learnt purposes.
  • PLC fault finding using PLCs for remedial actions and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with maintenance engineering department for external modifications and future installations.
  • Support improvements identified through the Red Tag and 6S process.
  • Shift handovers must be completed.
  • Support a culture of change and improvement within the engineering department.

About You

  • Must have served a recognised Apprenticeship and Educated to HNC or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering with a minimum of 3 year`s post Apprenticeship experience with strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in heavy plant and machinery.
  • Must be able to read Mechanical and Electrical drawings for fault finding purposes.
  • Having experience of working with hydraulics and pneumatics is a must.
  • Basic fabrication skills are advantageous.
  • The use of testing equipment.
  • Knowledge PLCs ladder logic and structured text.
  • Good IT skills using Microsoft packages Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • PLC, Siemens S7 Advantageous.
  • Mechanical, hydraulic pneumatic maintenance and fault-finding skills
  • Very strong with electrical fault-finding using HMI fault codes.
  • Root cause analysis.
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations.
  • Be flexible to work 3 shifts including nights, as well as overtime when required.
