The Company
Our client is a specialist engineering company. Due growth they are now looking to recruit a Mechanical Lead.
The Role
- Will be working permanent day shift role leading a team assembling and building their specialist products.
- To conduct allocated work to established quality standards and to required timetables.
- To lead/ direct other staff in conducting this work, ensuring the health and safety of all affected. This includes training.
- To establish and maintain a safe and effective working environment, including shop cleanliness and housekeeping.
- To ensure that equipment is available and maintained, including calibration of gauges.
- To monitor and advise of stock levels of consumables and parts so that these are available to ensure service levels.
- To provide required production records (paper and electronic).
- To establish and maintain a communications system which enables staff and management to easily see important performance measures e.g. delivery on time, parts availability and quality problems/ equipment issues.
- To lead improvement initiative.
- Organising/ motivating/ training staff to complete production tasks.
- Spotting and dealing with health, safety and environmental issues; recording and solving these.
- Completing production records.
- Requesting parts.
- Requesting equipment repairs, replacement and calibration.
- Completing cell 5S cleaning events; reorganising cell layout to improve effectiveness/
- Arranging inspections.
The Person
- Time Served Mechanical Fitter or have relevant experience.
- Experience of building special purpose machines.
- Must have supervisory experience.
- Experience in assembly.
- Ability to read assembly/technical documentation such as drawings and work instructions.
- Adhere to manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\βs).
