We are looking for a skilled Assembly & Test Technician to support the build, calibration, and testing of complex electrical and electronic systems.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on ensuring products are assembled, tested, and maintained to a high standard.
The role also includes supporting repairs, working closely with engineers, and occasionally interacting with customers.
The job you will do
- Carry out complex assembly of electrical and electronic equipment to detailed specifications
- Perform precision calibration, adjustment, and testing using specialist instruments
- Diagnose faults and support repair and maintenance activities
- Work from engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Record and document test results and performance data
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Support engineers in developing and improving assembly and test procedures
- Contribute to product quality improvements and process efficiency
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and handling of components
- Assist in resolving technical issues during build and test stages
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, and operations teams
- Occasionally liaise with customers or external partners to support technical requirements
- Plan and manage your own tasks to meet deadlines
- Produce clear documentation using Microsoft Office tools
About you
- Strong hands-on experience in electrical or electronic assembly and testing
- Ability to follow technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Experience managing multiple tasks or workflows simultaneously
- Good understanding of quality and regulatory standards
- Basic planning and organisational skills
- Experience working in regulated or high-compliance industries would be an advantage
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project
- Experience supporting technical products or services for external customers
- Relevant engineering qualification (Level 3 or higher) preferred OR equivalent hands-on experience in a similar role
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality
- Practical and methodical approach to problem-solving
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and organised, with good time management skills
