The Role you will be doing:

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Account Manager plays a critical role in driving business growth and ensuring customer satisfaction. The role involves managing both existing and potential new customers, overseeing the communication between the business and its clients regarding current orders, new work opportunities, pricing, and quotations. The Account Manager is responsible for ensuring that the business achieves optimal returns on all products produced. Additionally, the role involves monitoring customer expectations, internal performance, and resolving customer issues proactively and efficiently. Regular updates to the Commercial Manager regarding customer forecasts and activity shifts are also required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage efficient commercial procedures across the business.
  • Act as the lead for product enquiries, handling all commercial aspects related to receipt, preparation, and response.
  • Provide commercial insights, drive profitable growth, and support the company’s long-term goals.
  • Serve as the key customer interface on all commercial matters.
  • Regularly assess account performance, identify growth opportunities, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Procurement.
  • Identify new business opportunities by staying attuned to customer needs and market trends.
  • Manage pricing structures, terms, and conditions to ensure profitability.
  • Assist in monitoring financial metrics related to sales and margins; develop and manage customer framework agreements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with commercial contacts within a global customer base.

About You:

  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, or business development, ideally within an engineering or technical environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and proven experience in making sound commercial decisions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Results-driven and customer-focused.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to balance workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Marketing skills to support customer base growth.
  • Proficient in contract negotiation and management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proficient in IT software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ideally, previous experience in commercial management, sales, or marketing, particularly in the engineering field.
