The Company: We are currently seeking proactive and reliable Multi Skilled Operatives to join our clients team. This is a great opportunity for individuals with strong organisational and communication skills who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role has the potential to become permanent after a 12-week period for the right candidate. This is not your standard warehouse role; the successful candidate will need to absorb and retain technical information quickly, work independently, and liaise effectively with internal departments under pressure. Full training will be provided.
You must be willing to adapt to different roles within the company, such as picking, packing and receipting of products.
The Role:
- Picking, packing, and preparing stock (including electrical cables) for delivery or internal use.
- Receiving incoming goods, inspecting deliveries, and accurately recording items into the system.
- Safely handling and storing cables and other materials according to company procedures.
- Operating a forklift truck (approximately 20% of the role) to move materials around the warehouse and yard.
- Using computer systems and inventory management software to process receipts, track stock, and generate reports.
- Ensuring stock levels are accurate and materials are stored correctly to support operational efficiency.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with health and safety standards.
- Supporting other warehouse and logistics duties as required.
The Person:
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence (essential)
- Full, clean, manual UK Driving Licence (Essential)
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace (essential - will be assessed at interview)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good customer service mindset
- Comfortable with using IT systems for inventory and reporting tasks
- Experience in a Stores or Warehouse role
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence
- Solid understanding of workplace Health & Safety procedures
- Overhead Gantry Crane operation experience
- Experience using IT-based inventory systems such as Oracle and Microsoft
- Stocktaking knowledge and experience
