Engineering Technician A in Ashington, Northumberland

The Company Our client is at the forefront of the manufacturing and engineering sector. Sustained growth is the reason they have a new requirement for an Engineering Stores Technician. The Role Will be working day shift. Verify quantities, part numbers, material grades, dimensions, condition and packaging. Carry out visual, dimensional and functional inspections using appropriate measuring and testing equipment. Review supplier documentation, including certificates of conformity, material certificates, inspection reports and test certificates. Record inspection results accurately within the companys quality or ERP system. Raise non-conformance reports and communicate quality issues to Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Stores and suppliers. Support investigations into supplier defects and help determine corrective and preventive actions. Monitor recurring supplier-quality problems and contribute to supplier performance reviews. Ensure inspection and measuring equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained. Maintain traceability of materials, batch numbers, serial numbers and inspection records. Support internal and external quality audits when required. Assist with continuous-improvement initiatives to reduce incoming defects, production delays, waste and rework. The Person Experience in a similar role with in stores quality. Ability to use quality measuring tools/equipment. Engineering or manufacturing experience essential. An excellent salary.
