MTrec are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Washington, who are looking to recruit a Quality Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to join a successful company that really puts their employees at the heart of their business.

The Job You’ll Do:

  • Management of a small quality team (4-5 direct reports)
  • Prepare KPI’s and generate monthly quality report
  • Lead a cross-functional morning meeting with Production, Health safety, maintenance, purchasing, planning
  • Manage and co-ordinate quality assurance function
  • Promote actions for the continuous improvement of the product and process quality indicators, improving workers’ knowledge in identifying the root causes inherent to the qualitative aspects through the use of quality tools and problem-solving methodologies
  • Analysis of qualitative data and formulation of proposals for improvement
  • Contribute to the implementation of Quality throughout the production process
  • Ensure that only products conforming to the specifications are manufactured, stopping production and/or shipment where appropriate particularly where there is potential risk to the customer
  • Assure the analysis of the products returned by the client, the identification and implementation within the departments of corrective actions and the drafting of the response reports (8D model and analysis sheet); PPAP documentation management
  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports
  • Develop and implement changes that reduce waste and increase efficiency

About You:

  • Experience in a management role within the Quality function of an Engineering/Manufacturing business
  • Qualified to HNC level or above in a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge & understanding of ISO9001 (Auditor desirable)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Management, Leadership or Supervisory experience essential
  • Comfortable being hands-on on the shop floor as well as office-based (50/50)
