About the Role

MTrec Technical is representing a prestigious engineering client in their 2026 recruitment initiative, recruiting a permanent Press Tooling Engineer to strengthen their team.

The Job You’ll Do:

  • Lead the repair and maintenance of all assembly and press tooling equipment, ensuring work is completed efficiently and within required timescales.
  • Diagnose faults accurately and carry out timely repairs to maximise equipment uptime and machine availability.
  • Execute planned and preventative maintenance activities to minimise breakdowns and enhance equipment performance, reliability, and longevity.
  • Drive geometry improvement initiatives through strong technical expertise and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, requirements, and all relevant Quality Management System (QMS) processes.
  • Support and promote the intervention process and escalation procedures to ensure effective issue resolution.
  • Maintain full compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements, including PUWER regulations, power press regulations, and lifting and slinging procedures.
  • Assist with the procurement, control, and management of spare parts, tooling, and maintenance resources.
  • Accurately record and maintain RPO and MTTR data, documenting completed work and hours through electronic reporting systems.
  • Contribute to the development of Engineering Apprentices through mentoring, coaching, and the sharing of technical knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness within own work area and associated operational areas.
  • Work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Lead planned maintenance programmes and continuous improvement activities to enhance equipment efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.

About You:

  • Recognised apprenticeship in Die Maintenance, Toolmaking or similar
  • ONC or equivalent level qualification
  • Experience working within a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing setting
  • Proactive and autonomous in workload management
  • Able to communicate well at all levels
  • Analytical, methodical and structured approach to fault finding
  • Able to follow instructions, maintaining composure in pressurised situations
  • Able to prioritise fluctuations in workload, asking for support when needed
  • Cross‑functionally/collaboratively driven to support achievement of shared goals and objectives
