MTrec Recruitment are proudly representing our bespoke manufacturing client in their search for an experienced and senior research and development chemist. The role will be working from the business state of the art manufacturing site based in the Stoke on Trent area, and will provide crucial R&D service, within a small team of lab-based professionals.
The Job You Will Do:
- Working cross-functionally with R&D, Product Safety, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Compliance, Sales, and Product Management
- Innovating ideas and applying chemical technologies to advance product development
- Identifying and resolving customer needs to add value
- Supporting lifecycle management of the product portfolio, including introduction, obsolescence, change control, optimisation, and raw material evaluation/validation
- Maintaining bills of materials, quality control specifications, and manufacturing recipes within an ERP system
- Sample preparation and shipment
- Development and documentation of laboratory methods
- Conducting benchmarking activities
- Collaborating within regional and centralised organisational structures
- Supporting risk management related to customer and internal processes (e.g. FMEA)
- Adhering to good documentation practice, good laboratory practice, data integrity principles, and company standards and policies
About You:
- Ideally you will have 10+ years experience of working in lab-based environments within a senior R&D capacity.
- Experienced developer of water-based metal working fluids would be an advantage
- SAP working knowledge
- Good understanding and interpretation of chemical regulations
- Minimum BSc Degree – Suitable candidates with a STEM degree would be considered.
